What it is:
- Crazy easy to make with only two ingredients
- Completely natural, chemical free
What it’s not:
- Loaded with high fructose corn syrup
- Neon (because, um, ew)
What’s not to like?
Homemade sour mix
Ingredients
- 16 ounces simple syrup
- 12 ounces key lime, lime or lemon juice or some combination thereof
Instructions
- Stir or shake to combine
See? Crazy easy. And you can customize it, of course, and make it a little more sweet or a little more sour — whatever floats your boat. Or your margarita shaker.
There is nothing like homemade sour mix. The store bought stuff is just unacceptable for my cocktails. Great photo.
Thank you! 🙂 ~OPK
I always wonder why people buy sweet and sour mix….. 🙂
Well I had no idea it was so easy! I didn’t know what all was in it — what a lovely surprise! ~OPK
Have you tried making grenadine? I made it last month, and never looked back.
I have not! Do tell! ~OPK
Its too simple, take 2 cups pomegranate juice, bring to a boil, then simmer til it reduces by about half. Add a cup of sugar, stir til dissolved, and let it cool. You can add red color if you feel the need, but it makes such a rich dark purpley colour on its own.
That IS too simple! Thank you!!
